Rope Halters by Paula

Sizing

I make many sizes of rope halters to fit almost any size horse:

foal size - fits up to a 13 inch nose circumference where the nose band is worn(this one is very small)

weanling size - fits up to a 16 inch nose circumference where the nose band is worn(this halter is designed to fit the 2-4 month old quarter type horse size)

weanling plus size - fits up to 19 inch nose circumference where the nose band is worn(should work for the babies 5 months or more of the quarter horse type horse size)

yearling/Arab size - fits up to a 23 inch nose circumference where the nose band is worn

cob - fits up to a 23 inch nose circumference but has the longer length of the quarter horse size

quarter horse size - fits up to 26 inch nose circumference where the nose band is worn

I like the halters to fit as close as is comfortable to start with because, with use, the knots tighten and therefore the halter does get a bit larger.

Sometimes a horse won't fit into one of these catagories - for whatever reason - maybe they have a longer head size you might be concerned about, shorter, wider head, or whatever. If you would like to take a couple of easy measurements, I can custom tie one to your specs - .50 more unless it is an extra large horse. The measurements that I would need are: 1) actual nose circumference where the nose band is worn and 2) the distance from that nose band, over the poll to the nose band on the other side. (I suggest using a piece of twine and then measuring that.)
